E-mail Print PDF

The Ministry of Health in partnership with PAHO Belize hosted a stakeholders meeting in Belmopan to sensitize specific stakeholder groups on the Accelerated Action for the health of Adolescence (AA-HA!) Guidance document. This step by step document was launched by the World Health Organization in 2017 to support the drafting of new health policies and programs for adolescence health. The objectives of the meeting today was to sensitize and secure support from specific groups on the document as it relates to decision makers who interact directly and indirectly with adolescence in Belize. Belize aims to join the over 70% PAHO member states including the Caribbean and its territories since 2008 who have already developed and implemented adolescence health plans as part of their national health strategies, polices and plans. Participating groups including the Ministries of Education, Human Development and Local Government, Department of Youth, Cancer Society and the BFLA among others.
