Tuberculosis First Quarter Report 2009

Tuberculosis First Quarter Report 2009

The overall number of TB cases in the country has shown an endemic pattern over the last few years, with oscillating number of cases reported in every quarter oscillating around a mean. The first quarter of 2009 is no different and in the first three months of this year, 20 new cases were reported, this almost doubles the amount documented in the same period for 2008. The male population affected is twice the number of females although no clear explanation can be derived from this. However, no relapse cases were detected in this period.
