The National Drug Abuse Control Council – Belize was established in 1988 and legally constituted by the Misuse of Drugs Act 1990 (revised 2020). It is a governmental policy organization, under the Ministry of Health that provides advice to the Government of Belize in matters relating to the reduction of the demand and supply of drugs in Belize.
It has an established staff of 22. NDACC-Belize Central Office is in Belize City, with offices in each district.
NDACC- Belize District Offices key role is to educate people about the dangers of substance misuse including alcohol and tobacco. It is hoped that by providing correct information will allow individuals to make a more informed decision about the dangers of taking drugs. Our District Offices also provide Outreach and Referral Services to individuals who seek treatment and rehabilitation
